Oahu SPCA Receives PetSmart Charities Grant
The O’ahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (O’ahu SPCA)
announced today that the organization received a $75,000 grant from PetSmart
Charities, the leading funder of animal welfare in North America in
support of their low cost Spay and Neuter clinic. The clinic offers affordable spay
and neuter pricing with the same quality and experienced surgeons. Pricing
ranges from $100-250.
“We’re extremely grateful for PetSmart Charities’ support to continue to spay and neuter Oahu’s animals. This means more pet owners will be able to afford the care their pets’ needs.” says Oahu SPCA’s General Manager, Amanda Villeme.
“By spaying and neutering your pet you could potentially save hundreds of lives
as well as avoid unwanted health issues.”
“O’ahu SPCA is making great strides to reduce pet homelessness and the
overpopulation of pets in its community by providing accessible and affordable spay and neuter procedures,” said Jenny Aho, regional relationship manager at PetSmart Charities. “With the help of this grant, they are providing a proactive approach to preventing unplanned litters in O’ahu.”
Oahu SPCA is also a PetSmart Charities Adoption Partner, actively adopting out
pets its in-store adoption program at PetSmart and at local adoption events held weekly.
Potential adopters may visit our cats at PetSmart in Mililani or Iwilei during business hours or on the weekends for our adoption events.
PetSmart Charities aims to proactively prevent pet homelessness through increased spay and neuter efforts. With the help of animal welfare partners, such as O’ahu SPCA, PetSmart Charities has facilitated over 1.7 million spay and neuter surgeries in the U.S. since 2009.
