Be a Foster Parent

Foster parenting is very rewarding. You provide a healthy home environment for rehabilitation prior to adoption. Foster parents also get "first choice" to fully adopt our animals. This is a great pet option for military families and temporary residents!

You will need to provide your rescue with:

* food, water, safety, shelter
* transportation to medical appointments as needed
* love and affection
* transportation to adoption events to meet prospective homes

OahuSPCA Adoption Policies

1. Any animal being adopted from OahuSPCA must be spayed or neutered before the adoption is considered complete.

2. We ask for a $150 donation for an adult animal; $200 for puppies and $60 for cats, kittens or rabbits.

3. After an adoption application is received, OahuSPCA will review the form and a representative will call you if there are further questions. A home visit may be required as part of the adoption process.

4. Anyone adopting an animal from OahuSPCA must sign a waiver releasing OahuSPCA from responsibility if the animal causes harm to anyone or anything.

5. OahuSPCA reserves the right to follow-up calls or visits, to insure everyone is happy and that the animal is content with its new home. These home visits could occur at any time during the first year of adoption.

6. You must agree to treat the animal with love and respect, care for all its needs, including regular visits to the veterinarian, and to NEVER intentionally cause any harm to the animal. You must also provide proof of veterinary care upon request at any time.

7. You must agree to have the animal micro-chipped and to keep an identification tag on the animal at all times. Registration, microchip, and tags must be placed in your name.

8. If, for any reason, you are not happy with your newly adopted pet, call OahuSPCA and we will arrange to take that animal back into the system. We cannot however, refund the adoption donation.

9. You must adhere at all times to your housing regulations, lease, or landlord requirements. This includes paying any fees associated with registration of your animal for housing, landlord, city, county, state..etc...

10. You must notify us in writing if you have a change of address, or phone number.
